Course Description:

The population of aging adults with mobility limitations continues to grow. People today live much longer lives than ever before. As people age, they often struggle with a variety of different diagnoses that can affect their ability to sit functionally and the ability to maintain independent mobility. This course will address what these individuals can qualify for in regards to mobility equipment, when to consider what type of mobility equipment, how best to address the individuals seating needs and when to use off the shelf options vs custom seating options.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of the course the participant will be able to:

Discuss the mobility algorithm and how to utilize it with individuals.
Analyze when mechanical positioning is appropriate for the adult consumer.
Differentiate between off the shelf seating equipment and custom
Assess when custom seating is needed over off-the-shelf seating.
